Poster Designing - Creative Designer


Creative Designer is a basic poster designing event where participants will have to design a poster using PC/ Workstation based on the given topic in 3 hours.

Allowed Categories

1. Super Senior (DOB Range: August 1st 1996 to July 31st 2001)

2. Senior (DOB Range: August 1st 2001 to July 31st 2005)

3. Junior (DOB Range: August 1st 2005 to July 31st 2008)

4. Sub Junior (DOB Range: August 1st 2008 to July 31st 2013)

Participation Criteria

1. Contestants can participate on behalf of any Cultural/Art Institute (or) Media/Mass Communication Schools (or) Film Making Training Schools.

2. A participant can represent only 1 School

3. Declaration in this effect shall be signed along with the registration via respective Training Centre. Organizers may authorize one of the registered organizations to represent any Major Cities in UAE if no Cultural School is available for participation from the particular UAE Sector

Rules & Regulations

1. Contestant can complete their Registration Procedures via communicating to : +971- 544363926

2. Contestants need to do a Live Poster Designing at the event venue based on the theme provided during Finale which will be happening on Dec 3rd 2019.

3. The competition will run for 3 hours which includes the creation of the Digital Artwork and the Artist Statement of Originality — this is an explanation in 300 words or less describing what inspired the artwork.

4. The software to be used is Adobe Photoshop

5. Contestants need to bring their own workstation with the installed software (Adobe Photoshop)

6. Time Limit: 3 Hours

7. Participants will also be provided clean sheet of paper to write down their explanation about their artwork.

8. The use of input devices other than a mouse is not allowed. The use of flash drive is strictly prohibited.

9. Participants are advised to constantly save their entries in case of power interruption.

10. No downloaded images can be integrated in the artwork since it should be all original. Everything in the artwork should be from scratch. The use of stacked/library images of Adobe Photoshop is also not allowed.

11. There should only be 2 applications running during the competition proper, namely Adobe Photoshop and Notepad. A participant caught running applications other than the allowed will be imposed with a one (1) point deduction per judge

12. After the briefing/orientation of the competition, a one (1) point deduction per judge per 5 minutes will be imposed for late comers. Only a maximum of thirty (30) minutes is allowed for late comers, more than that time equates disqualification.

13. Make sure your image is around 200dpi, 10”x 8” (Landscape or Portrait orientation) and there are no names or distinguishing marks on the entry. Failure to follow the image specification of output image will be imposed with a five (5) point deduction per judge.

14. Save the image with the following information:

  1. Name initials_ParticipantNo.jpg.
    1. For example, participant: Ashish Singh – No. 5
    2. Filename: AS_5.jpg
  2. Note: When exporting the image to JPEG, make sure that the compression is 0 (zero compression) or set JPEG options Quality to Maximum (12).

15. When done with the artwork, write the Report of Creativity using Notepad. Save the text with the following information:

  1. Name initials_ParticipantNo.txt
    1. For example, participant: Ashish Singh – No. 5
    2. Filename: AS_5.txt

16. By the end of 3 hours, all artworks and Report of Creativity must be done and saved.

17. Evaluation by qualified judges will commence at this time.

18. A participant may be disqualified by the competition committee for any activity that jeopardizes the contest such as dislodging extension cords, unauthorized modification of contest materials, or distracting behavior.

19. The result once announced is final and irrevocable.

20. Judging Criteria will be based on Originality, Visual Appeal, Layout, Concept

21. Decision of Judges will be final.

22. ITH reserves the right to cancel this competition at any stage, if deemed necessary in its opinion, and if circumstances arise outside of its control, or if the number of participants do not exceed the minimum number decided by ITH during Finals. 

23. The Decision of Panel of Judges shall be final & abiding to all. The Parents/ Participants/ school authorities will have no right to contact Judges directly. Complaints from Parents/ Teachers will not be entertained, however, in the of any discrepancy; the authorized Cultural/Art Institute representative can submit a written complaint to the Organizers office at the Venue within 15 minutes soon after the declaration of the results and to pay a non – refundable fee of AED 250/- per complaint. The Cultural /Art Institute authorities should assign a team manager for this particular event to coordinate with the Organizing committee

24. The contestants should complete their makeup & costume before one hour the event is scheduled to be held. If contestants are not available at the venue after third call, the organizers will have the right to cancel his/ her participation. Only two minutes will be provided for Stage Setting apart from the allotted Time Frame for each Live Stage event (Exception only for Amplified (Music Band) & Super Six Show)

25. Cultural/Art Institute Representatives (or) parents should take care of their wards and their personal belongings. Indywood Team will not bear responsibility for any loss or damage.

Prizes & Opportunities

1. Prize winners will be honored on Day 2 of Finals, which will be conducted along with valedictory function. Prize winning Teams can collect their prizes at the ceremony. Participation certificates will be issued through respective schools.

2. Grade system will be applicable to find out Individual Champions in Sub Junior, Junior, Senior & Super Seniors (Girls/Boys) Individual Events. For the Overall Championship, points of the group events will also be counted. Creative Designer is a Solo Event.

  1. 70% and above       A Grade - 5 Points (Individual)/10 Points (Group)
  2. 55 – 70%                B Grade - 3 Points (Individual)/6 Points (Group)
  3. 40 – 55%                C Grade - 1 Point (Individual)/2 Points (Group)
  4. First Prize               Grade points + 5 Points (Individual)/10 Points(Group)
  5. Second Prize          Grade points + 3 Points (Individual)/6 Points (Group)
  6. Third Prize              Grade points + 1 Point (Individual)/2 Points (Group)

3. Individual Champions will be awarded with Mr. Indywood (Boy) / Ms. Indywood (Girl)- (Sub Juniors, Juniors, Seniors & Super Seniors Separate). At least 1 First prize in any event and a prize in any other event is required to get qualified for the individual championship. If no one meets this requirement individual champions shall be selected on basis of max points obtained. Then also, if no one meets the requirement, group event points will be considered.

4. Super six stage show will be an entertainment session for which both Teachers (Visa/Labour card holders of the same Institute) & students from the Top 5 Cultural Schools (Based on the Points scored in 82 events of Indywood Talent Hunt International – UAE 2019) can perform their talents for 20 minutes each, which shall be assessed by the chief guests based on its professional entertainment concept. The 6th team will be constituted by the selected events from all other institutes competing under the ITH banner.

5. For the Overall Championship, additional Points to the Institutions as per the winners of Super six stage show will be as following:

  1. First Prize             100 Points
  2. Second Prize        75 Points
  3. Third Prize            50 Points
  4. Fourth Prize          25 Points
